Tantric Sex

Spirit and sexuality are two words that are not often found together in the Western world. Particularly since Western organized religions have made the association of sexuality and the desire for it with the Devil. Allowing it to only be used for the purpose of procreation and not as a pleasurable activity. Even though today most Western societies are now secular, this trailing feeling still exists today. Whereas there are still ingrained feelings of guilt and shame in regards to sexuality.

Widely speaking in Eastern religions like Taoism, Buddhism and Hinduism the same prudishness towards sex is not seen. Whereas Monks in Japan can get married, versus the Catholic counterparts that have to remain celibate. It’s the cases of extremism, dependency and attachment to sex that can create a problem. Sex does not create the problem intrinsically in itself. As Sex is only a medium for the Psyche to express potential sickness in Eastern philosophies.

The tradition of Tantra explores the possibility of union with the Divine and Sexuality. Even though the Tantric exploration encompasses more than sex. Most people in the Western world make the association of the word Sex when they think of Tantra.

In short what does Tantric Sex give you?

On a pragmatic level it allows a man to enjoy sex more. By giving him the ability to last longer and experience deeper and more thorough orgasms that are not only limited to the genital region. Tantric practices tends to revolve around the man as the prime initiator of sex.

It also gives a man more energy. As sex typically depletes a man and makes him tired while energizing a woman. Yet Tantric sex can allow you to feel fresher and more lively. Enhancing your health and potentially prolonging your life.

On a spiritual level Tantra can lead you to feel a greater sense of euphoria, good will, compassion and bliss. As it was developed with the integration of Buddhism back into its Hindu roots as it investigated other forms of Enlightenment. Particularly looking for faster methods of Enlightenment which might not take multiple lifetimes.

How is this all achieved? Quite simply by training. It’s difficult to talk about anything related to Sex without being labelled a pervert and let alone how to be more productive at Sex. Since it is considered a Taboo subject in the western world. But the secret sauce comes mainly from regular practice.

The first step in training Tantra is gaining control of a mans ability to ejaculate. Which employs the same muscles that a man uses to control his urination. As a man was once a toddler, he would not have the ability to stop himself from peeing in his own pants whenever the urge would arise. This muscular control needed to be trained. So in the interim diapers and toilet training were necessary. Until he could control his urination reflex when the circumstances were not appropriate.

Just like we had to develop our muscles and coordination to walk. Those same muscles can be developed further if you want to become a world class sprinter. As there are various levels of development. The same goes with control and strength of the muscles that control ejaculation. Which constitutes the regular practice of Tantra.

Once the muscles are well developed, the energy of the orgasm can then be moved up through the body and through the different chakra energy centers. Which can be done with the training and focus of the mind. Where the energy can then nourish other areas of the body and provide a greater span of euphoric orgasmic feelings in the body. This mental focus is achieved through the practice of meditation.

This description given of the Tantric practice is an oversimplification. To give a general idea of the practice involved. However there is much more to it with the given particulars. To explore this subject further one needs to thoroughly study and practice for years on end.

One of the best recommended resources to explore this book is called “Taoist Secrets of Love: Cultivating Male Sexual Energy” by Mantak Chia. This is one of the best books in the English language and could be considered the Bible of Tantra for men. As Mantak Chia is one of the most prolific writers that have translated the Ancient Eastern Philosophies for the Western mind.

End of the day, Tantra is not an excuse to indulge in Hedonism. It’s a practice that still requires discipline in order to enrich one’s life spiritually and physically. And along with the practice regular study is required. As you learn more about the subtle energies within your own bodies and in others. So try to keep an open mind as you continue with your exploration of alternative forms of spirituality.
